We couldn’t wait to share this wedding on The Bugle House blog. Lillie and Owen chose The Bugle House in Southampton as the setting for their wedding reception and evening party. This wedding celebration was all about great people, beautiful wedding design and a celebration that felt easy from the moment guests arrived. 

From cocktails in the courtyard to dancing late into the evening, every part of the day was designed with the guests in mind. Lillie and Owen’s main aim for their wedding was simple. They wanted everyone to relax, celebrate, and genuinely have the best time together. Held on a warm June summer’s day, this modern city wedding balanced stylish design with a welcoming atmosphere. The kind that naturally turns into a great party.

A Romantic Start to the Day

Lillie began her wedding morning at her parents’ home, getting ready surrounded by close family and those quiet, emotional moments that make the start of the day so memorable. From there, Lillie and Owen exchanged vows during a romantic ceremony at their St. Mary’s Church in Southampton.  

Following their church ceremony, the couple and their guests made their way on foot to The Bugle House, turning the journey itself into part of the experience. Walking through the city together, Lillie and Owen embraced the charm and beauty of Southampton. 

Stylish Drinks Reception at The Bugle House 

Guests were welcomed into The Graces room for a sun-soaked wedding drinks reception on the terrace. With the building’s white Italianate exterior as a backdrop, the atmosphere felt light, celebratory, and effortlessly stylish.

We served a beautiful selection of welcome drinks, including chilled prosecco, beers, and soft drinks, alongside delicious canapés prepared by the couple’s chosen caterers. Laughter filled the courtyard as guests mingled, reconnected, and enjoyed the sunshine.

Throughout the drinks reception, the light softened beautifully, with golden hour settling across the courtyard and terrace overlooking the Solent. It created the most incredible photo moments! Not just for Lillie and Owen, but for their guests too. All captured perfectly by Drew Buckler Weddings, who documented the day with a relaxed, natural eye for atmosphere and detail.

Timeless Wedding Styling in The Wonderland Ballroom

After the drinks reception, guests were invited into The Wonderland Ballroom for the wedding breakfast. Styled in soft whites, soft pastel tones, and elegant florals, the room looked effortlessly beautiful.

Pops of colour played a key role in the styling. Each guest had their own piece of stationery in a different pastel shade. Soft blues, lilacs, pinks, and gentle oranges, perfectly matching the wedding florals. We love seeing colour used like this, especially for summer weddings. 

For this wedding, Lillie and Owen chose round tables, which added depth and softness to the ballroom layout, creating an intimate and sociable dining experience for their guests. A single long table was used as a top table for the immediate family. 

The neutral tones of The Wonderland provided the perfect canvas for their styling choices, allowing the florals, table details, and natural light to shine. Dinner was served and thoroughly enjoyed by all, with conversation flowing easily throughout the room. 

Sunset Cocktails in The Courtyard

After the wedding breakfast, guests made their way into the courtyard to enjoy delicious cocktails and make the most of the golden hour. With the sun setting over The Bugle House couryard, it was the perfect moment for relaxed mingling. An incredible backdrop for photos, capturing the beauty and atmosphere of the day.

An Unforgettable Evening Party in Grace’s Room

As the evening approached, the celebration moved into Grace’s Room, where the atmosphere shifted effortlessly from elegant dining to a full-scale party. With cocktails flowing, music filling the space, and guests ready to celebrate, the energy was electric. In classic The Bugle House fashion, the couple cut their cake on the bar. A signature, fun moment that had everyone smiling.

Lillie and Owen chose to have a live band alongside a DJ, a combination that kept the dance floor full all night long. Guests danced, laughed, and celebrated well into the evening, making full use of the space. 

Grace’s Room proved to be the perfect setting for an evening party. A stylish wedding space designed for unforgettable celebrations.
