An Events Venue with History
Built in 1846, The Bugle House is one of Southampton’s most iconic landmark buildings. Originally constructed as the home of the Royal Southern Yacht Club, this beautiful Grade II-listed Italianate townhouse was designed by local architect Thomas Sandon Hack and funded by Robert Wright, Vice-Commodore of the club.
From its earliest days, the house was a place for gathering and celebration. Hosting private members’ events and large-scale regattas. Over the years, The Bugle House has lived many lives. It has served as a school, a merchant’s office, and later returned to the yacht club before being used by Southampton University’s Air Squadron following World War II. After decades of service, the building eventually fell into disrepair and required care and renewal.
