Every wedding at The Bugle House tells a different story, and Lou and Steven’s was one we’ll remember for all the right reasons. Thoughtfully planned, beautifully styled and centred around the people they love most, their spring wedding was the perfect example of how an elegant celebration can still feel completely relaxed (and seriously fun from start to finish).

Choosing The Bugle House as their exclusive wedding venue in Southampton, Lou and Steven made the most of everything the house has to offer, turning their wedding into an unforgettable weekend with family and friends. From staying the night before in our luxury boutique bedrooms to dancing long into the evening, every part of the celebration felt effortless, personal and full of joy.

A Relaxed Start to Their Wedding Weekend

One of the biggest advantages of choosing an exclusive-use wedding venue is having the time to truly enjoy every moment. 

The couple, along with their closest family, stayed in The Bugle House’s seven luxury boutique bedrooms the night before the wedding, allowing everyone to settle in, relax and wake up together on the morning of the celebration.

Instead of rushing between wedding venues, the morning felt calm, exciting and full of those little in-between moments you never forget. Sunlight poured through the windows as hair and makeup artists transformed the bridal party, laughter filled the house, and glasses were raised to the day ahead. It was everything a wedding morning should be. Relaxed, emotional and full of anticipation.

A Romantic Ceremony in Grace’s Room

With around 70 guests gathered to celebrate, Grace’s Room looked stunning for the ceremony.

Fresh florals framed the beautiful fireplace while elegant floral arrangements surrounded the signing table, creating a timeless backdrop for Lou and Steven to officially become husband and wife.

One of the most special (and honestly, goosebump-worthy) moments of the day was Lou walking down the aisle with her sons by her side, to a live singer performing in the room. It was incredibly romantic, beautifully timeless, and one of those moments that instantly sets the tone for the rest of the day.

As vows were exchanged, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room before guests celebrated the newlyweds with huge smiles and happy tears.

Summer Cocktails in the Courtyard

Following the ceremony, everyone made their way into the courtyard to enjoy a relaxed drinks reception in the summer sunshine.

With cocktails flowing, chilled drinks in hand and delicious canapés served by The Little Kitchen Company, guests were able to slow down, catch up with friends and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of The Bugle House.

The courtyard is one of our favourite spaces during the spring and summer months. With its white exterior, elegant architecture and relaxed atmosphere, it creates the perfect setting for those natural conversations, candid photographs and the first celebrations as newlyweds.

A Beautiful Wedding Breakfast in The Wonderland

Guests were then welcomed into The Wonderland Ballroom for an elegant wedding breakfast.

The styling perfectly complemented the space. Lush green linens and timeless table styling were lifted with vibrant pops of bright pink, soft pastel tones and fresh green foliage, creating a look that felt modern, romantic and full of personality. 

The incredible wedding florist, Solent Stems created the beautiful florals, bringing colour, texture and softness throughout the ballroom. Against The Wonderland’s neutral interiors, the flowers became a real focal point and showed just how impactful thoughtful floral design can be.

Celebrating Into the Evening

As the sun began to set, guests made the most of the terrace overlooking the Solent before the celebrations continued back inside.

Grace’s Room was transformed from an elegant ceremony space into a lively evening reception, with the dance floor quickly filling as friends and family celebrated the new Mr and Mrs.

Lou and Steven’s wedding was a wonderful reminder that timeless weddings don’t have to mean all white.

Their thoughtful use of colour, beautiful summer florals and meaningful family moments created a celebration that felt incredibly personal while still remaining effortlessly elegant.

Combined with an exclusive-use venue, luxury accommodation, exceptional catering and the freedom to enjoy every space throughout the day, it was a wedding that perfectly reflected who they are as a couple.
